i'm looking for objective opinions and descriptions of the pre 04 steering geometry vs. post 04 geometry.

also, why do you suppose husaberg built the bike for all those years before they opted to steepen the steering angle? i thought they were on to something....i wonder who decided to do this.....KTM maybe????

i am amazed at how well my 96 and 02 turn. i used to think turning was mostly about head angle... then the husabergs made me re-think. now i don't know what to think. i do know i never had a KTM that would turn

well, Dougn 1, I'm not up much on the newer bergs (I've got the 96 FE600 Husabeast) but I can tell you that there is a massive difference in the turning manners between the 96 and my 92 501 frame which I currently am using. This provides me with a bike that does not push the front out in corners, and I can really be aggresive with it as it gives a lot of feedback as to what the front wheel is doing. When I had my forks resprung and revalved it also made it much better. I thought my 501 was the best handling big=bore I had ever ridden, but the brakes left something to be desired. I probably didn't answer your question, but I'm the mood to type a little, so here I go............ 8)

Hi dougn 1
03 - current steeper angle makes the bike turn better but it has its down side in that it is not as stable as 00-02 and 03 -current tends to dive more
so it comes down to preference personally I prefer 00-02 in the sand and
03 - current in the tight woods
so long Per

Do all 03 models have the new frame geometry , or only later production as some late 03 bikes also have 2 piece clutch cover ?
Are there other dimensional changes in the post 03 designs other
than steering head rake ?
Thanks , any info appreciated .
