I'm restoring my 98 Fe600E, and would like to change the timing sprocket (alum.) to a steel one.
And I want to have a 04+ autodecomp.
Are the steel ones of the same dimension of the 98 ones ? what year ?

No, I haven't used any because there is always another project that comes in the way when I plan to put that engine together
Anyway from what I've seen you can use both, but for now I'm planning of using the old aluminium one, because it's like new, as the rest of the engine, and after I rebuild it it's not going to be a bike to use all the time.
The thing that you definitely you what to change is the spring of the auto decomp. Mine was incredible weak compared to the new ones.
I've bought a long time ago from Taffy one new spring and one new ADC, don't know if all sprockets and cams are the same, but for mine it's perfect you don't have to change a thing. Taffy sent me pictures of sprockets he had to change, but in my case I won't need to change anything. Don't know about yours ??
