Old berg bearing source?

I finally started working on my 96 501 and upon inspection it seems that the timing chain wasn't the only issue with that motor. I have a 99 that I am canabalizing for the tranny but after looking at the 96 bits I want to replace the bearings as well. Do you guys have a preferred source or do you just measure them and head for the nearest bearing supplier?

Thanks,

Bryce

Bryce,

Nearly all of the bearings in your engines will have the number stamped on them. It is an easy matter to find a bearing supplier and cross those numbers.
I specify SKF brand and often find what i need in a good auto parts store.
One of the early Berg engines I built had Chinese bearings in it, but the numbers still worked for SKF replacements.
The 99 tranny parts will interchange ok.
Hope that helps.
