Hi, i am sorry if i repeat a question..
Anyway, i am about to fix my fork on my Husaberg FC450 - 05. I do have a problem and a question... How big should the airchamber be) I mean what is the distance to the oil measured from the top?

Regards from a cold Sweden.

What are you going to do? enduro, supermotard, trail, motocross??

Enduro: 130-120 SAE2.5 or SAE5
Supermotard: 100mm SAE10 or SAE15
Trail: 110-100mm SAE7.5 or SAE 10
Motocross: 100mm SAE 10

Regards

So, at the risk of running the wroth of those who are to be revered by adding to a 2 year old thread...
Just doing the seals on my FE501 02 - blew one big time last week on the local MX track - searches here say anything from 100mm to 150mm. Doc says 115 - 130 so guess 120 is as good a place to start as any.

This is with the springs out I guess ??

Given I do 50% MX practice track & 50% trail & enduro (all at a very basic level) do you think I should go less - say 100 - 110mm ??

I assume less air makes for a harderfork - copes with jumping better - whilst more air is softer for a more comfortable ride over a prolonged period ? or is that over simplifing??

PS Taffy - send us over a set of seals & dust covers please.

Ta / James.
