When I replaced a new oilfilter on my FE 600(-06) add had som problems removing the oil filter cover. The resault was that i had to buy a new one. Anyway, when i startet the engine the motor oil came out prom a little hole on the topp of the oil filter housing ( 1 att the picture). It looks like there shall be a screw there, but what dimension? Its strange, chouse I can`t remeber I removed one.

As you can se the "transmission case" also got some damage ( 2 att the picture). Luckely I have a AC/DC TIG weld, so I`m gona weld it now.

Anyone that had some problems removing the oil filter cover?

superstad, the bolt hole you are referring to appears to be an m6 sized hole, a short m6x1 bolt should go in there. I do not have a 650, but I believe the battery bolts on in that area. When you remove the oil filter cover, take the bolt that is in the center of the cover out and install a longer bolt in the center hole and and use it to gently work the cover off. I have not heard of anybody having any problems before with that, so I don't know what to tell ya there.

Sperstad,
If you ever have the need to split the cases on your engine please be sure not to use the same technique that you used to remove the fiter cover. The case metal is too soft to endure a heavy hand and a pry bar.
I have modified a small bearing puller to screw into the center hole on the filter cover and it comes right off with some tugs on the puller. In a pinch it is nearly as easy to simply insert a long bolt into the center hole of the filter cover, clamp a vicegrip to the head of the bolt, and manuever the housing cover off with steady pressure and some very gentle 'wiggling'.

It appears that the oil is leaking through the crack and into the bolt hole. One thing you may try is to 1) clean all of the oil from the crack and bolt hole using brake cleaner or denatured alcohol 2) install a bolt in the hole with some anerobic sealer and allow it to set and cure. Start the engine and see if it leaks. This will be your easiest alternative.
