Hi guys, I am off to the races tomorrow! Well it is sort of a race, they call it a Halloween Scarescramble in Airway Heights, Washington. I guess that it is on an extended mx track which has an average 12 minute lap! I will be racing my 2000 FC501 and my tag-team partner wil be on his 1993 YZ250, it will be the first race for both of us, so I'll let you guys know how it all goes! I am really pumped about this! I heard that with this track they have some real loooong straight stretches where my Husa can stretch its legs as well as some rock obstacle courses. I can't wait.

Ok the good news is that my bike made it 2 and1/7 laps on the 7 mile track. The bad news is that she did not finish. Mechanically she did great and was the fastest bike on the field by far. So what time I lost in the twisties I made up on the long straitaways, the reason she did not finish was on account of me popping not one but both of my tires!!! So go figure I came off a tabletop and landed w/my front tire too far sideways to pop the front and the rear must have happened right before that when I opening her up at the beginning of a long straitaway probably spinning the tire like mad then I caught traction all of the sudden, so that must have spun the tube, It was a little tricky riding the remaining 6 miles on two flats, but if I turned around we would have been disqualified, so I just finished her out, those bikes don't corner so good without air in the tires!!!. It was awesome while it lasted though, hands down I had the fastest bike on the track, and for not having had the time to ride but twice all summer I think we did quite well. As near as I could find out we came in somewhere around 4th or 5th for the 250 and up non pros class we had to leave right after we loaded up, it was both of our first race, so we were pretty happy about that. So even though the Berg was out we finished on my pal's yz250 and we were still passing people like mad ( there were probably 75 or 80 riders spread out on the 7 mile course), It was great to see their faces because I think that we had two of the older bikes on the track, and man is that YZ a beater, but she runs good (I even passed one pro on it on my last lap that made me smile(nevermind the fact that he was ironmanning it and I knew that he wasn't in very good shape) ;). So that is how it all went I can't wait to do it again in the spring, next time I will make sure to load up on the slime in the tires and carry some fix a flat in case of an emergency. Altogether we clocked in I think 6 laps apiece which amounted to 84 tough miles.
