Same old story came home washed the bike a week later tried to start as I do every week riding or not ,No go .
FI lamp doesn't light up but engine cranks.
I have read posts on electrical system and it seems the reg requires current from the generator to switch everything on ,something it seems to lack .
Ive checked the wiring visually ( pulled apart ) unplugged and plugged every connector ,no signs of wear near the shock (removed top bolt and had a good look .
unplugged kill switch wires etc

Nothing
how do I test the generator or the stator since it requires current to turn on FI .
Any help appreciated ..

Its OK ! I found the problem, it was a broken wire in the loom near the battery .Three red and white wires connect in a shrink wrap plastic sleeve and one (the power relay wire ) had corroded off .
After locating the power relay up behind the head stem I found it had no power when 5-6 on the plug near the battery C/o Davo's thread . I traced it back and found the break.

Tilll the next drama .

Very similar to mine but mine was near the shock,3 wires to 1 had pulled apart right inside the loom, tricky to find, and really simple to fix once you've sussed it out
