have any of you experts out there found a nut and bolt set like they have for them JAP bikes hope you have Id like to get one

You can also hit BoltDepot.com and order the specific bolts you need, they are rather cheap. Some of the Husabolts are specific, like lots of Allens M6 which you usually don't find on the KTMs or on the Japs either, which all use hex bolts.

If you are like me, and it bothers you to replace fasteners with anything but the exact same type that is already on your bike, you should really take a look at the kits available especially tailored to the the fasteners on Husabergs and other Euro machines. I got one of the kits, and they are really nice--exact replacements for the OEM stuff. The kit even comes with threadlocker, a complete set of sprocket bolts and the replacement retaining clips for Brembo brake pins, in addition to all the replacement bolts, washers, etc. you will ever need.

Go to www.rockymountainatv and look up part #2004EUPP to check it out. As soon as I figure out how to post a direct link. I'll try to do it.

BTW, my local dealer carries these kits, so I would assume they are available through PU or TR if you are a dealer and want to stock the kits. They also have a smaller "fanny-pack" kit for less than 20 bucks.

I figured out how to do a direct link. Here it is:

John, I do not see any Allen fasteners in that kit. What if you need to replace one from your clutch or rocker cover?

FFS froggy, doesn't anyone love you enough to give you one free allen bolt? i mean - you have got works suspension and all?

regards

taffy

Nobody, but you know if you know some nuts and bolts company that needs some Web work done, let me know!

You don't need to be so negative, Taffy. Sometimes it's possible to open your mouth without crapping on somebody.

Try it.

There are very few allen head bolts on the new bikes. The clutch cover bolts are all hex head. The rocker access covers are still allens, but the kit is meant to replace bolts that are used frequently, wear out, or are lost due to vibration.

When I get a new bike, I take some of the bolts that I know will need to be replaced and then log on to McMaster.com. I order up a few (or a package if that's how it comes), and they come to me in a couple of days. This way I'm assured of the specs, and can upgrade if necessary/possible/advisable.

The bolts on the 2001-2002 engine (clutch, stator and rocker cover) are all Allen bolts, I don't know for the newer ones, it seems that it's all hex bolts and better quality. I actually have broken one of these bolt by overtorquing and it's not like I was using a foot-long shaft, I had it tight but I thought, hey... maybe I can make a tad tighter ... bad call. :(

There's only one way to learn that fire burns...

That works, but the size of the bolt heads are different. Order a M6 from McMaster and it will work, but the head size will be 10mm instead of 8mm like the stock bolts. They also don't have the cool dished heads like the stock bike's fasteners. That's why the bolt kits are good, at least if you're weird like me and like stuff to match.
