i have a problem wit my berg, after the bike has been used for a hour it will not start when its HOT. i normally have no problem starting it just 3 or 4 kicks usually. it is a 03 FE650 re-built last week. Any ideas anybody please help!
thanks adam

Your valves are to tight and once the engine has heated up it is reducing the clearances and holding the valves open.
There for making it hard to start.
Simply pull the inspection covers off loosen valve adjusting screws until you have movement in the rocker arm then do the adjusters up until you feel them touch.
Then back it of one eigth of a turn.
Do it when the engine is warm for a more acurate setting.

cheers doug

Yeah i didnt say hot i said warm.
I just find i get a more consistant result when the engine has some warmth in it.

I had the same problem with my 03 FE 650.
Adjusting the fuel mixture screw solved my problem.

I'd go one step furthur here and suggest setting the valves with the engine running. It's much more accurate, not to mention challenging!  8) 8)
