Long time no Berg...
See, my 650 got put up about 2 years ago due to knackered main bearings.

Anyway, I picked up a new spare engine on the Bay just got it out of the box yesterday.

So far it seems 100% legit. Numbers match the tag. It’s a 2008 FE550e engine.
Valves were adjusted properly, it was test run, the bore looks nice and smooth, the only sign that it’s 10 years old, is a little surface rust on the exposed head bolts.

Came with a clutch master, line, and slave.
Starter, kickstart, and gear shifter as well.

This weekend I’ll be swapping it into my 05 FSE650e.

I just so happen to have an FE550, so I have the ignition box and 550 specific exhaust.

I Don’t quite remember if it’s the headers that are different, or the mid pipe is not the same as the 650.

Anyway, I’m after jets and a carb rebuild kit. If anyone has suggestions I’d appreciate it.

Nice find Idle. I do believe the headers are different according to my 650 and 550.
Couldn’t upload pics though

You know
I saw the title and i thought that some mad hatter was going to hook NOS (nitrous oxide system) to their bike

well I do a jetting kit as you know but the jetting between the two is nigh on identical. you could go down 5 on the MJ and that wouldn't do any harm and you can get down to 42 on the PJ. this is with the standard needle. after that they are trouble. get a kit is the easy answer.

you were lucky to find that!

cheers
