No compression with kickstarter after *pling* sound

I just tried to start my FS650e '08 and while trying to find TDC I heard a "plingy" sound coming from somewhere inside the engine.

Normally I cannot push it through TDC once it's up there and I need to use the valve lift lever, but since the sound I can just push it through TDC.

Please help me out with ideas what it could be because I'm panicking right now :eek:

Does this require taking half the bike apart?
What is it you're suggesting on checking underneath the cover.?
In case this makes any difference, the bike only has 1500km on it.
 
If broken, install dual valve spring kit, still available from KTM and Taffy
