I bought a 450 from the mountains and moved it to sea level. It would idle but die with clutch engaged. I jetted main up from 60's to low 80's and it ran strong mid range and up. no low range power. I got an aftermarket adjustable pilot and adjusted it so I can blip the throttle with no hesitation and good transition into mid range. Took it for a first ride
yesterday found that it starts off smoothly but when I get to 1500-2000 the engine revs instantly and the bike lifts the
front wheel, not cool for an old guy. Is this normal?

No, not normal. Look over the threads on jetting, you'll get a lot of info. Search by my posts, you'll find my story in several places.

If it was jetted for the mountains, it might need a number of changes to get it back, not just the main.

Sounds like it still has a low end problem. When the revs get up it hits a spot where it's jetted right. Up until then, it wasn't right.

that's called Viagra

It's the Viagra kicking in and making it stand up, it's hard to get down isn't it....
