Hi All,
I have just bought this berg and was wondering if anyone could help with information on this FC 470 on an 02 plate. Looking for info on stuff like mods, servicing, common problems, kick start guides etc..........You get what I mean.
I am going to use it in its supermoto trim on the road in the summer and sick the crosser wheels on it for the winter, hoping to do a couple of hare and hounds, maybe the local MX track a couple of times a year. It's my first berg, had a cr 250 for years for off road and of course my GSXR 1000 K1 (pride and joy) for distance riding looking like a power ranger! From my first impressions though, the gixxer may take a bit of a back seat this year!
For anyone who has owned the berg how is it to live with?
Drinks are on me!
Many Thanks &
Great site! Credit to you all.......

hello greggy

i recently rebuilt the motor. you got it off a bloke with the wonderful ebay nik of "justoutajail" or similar right! hertfordshire....

after a lovely rebuild he pulled a wheelie and felt 'something'. so he pulled it down himself the second time.

last i heard, next time it was on ebay and i guess you bought it. i thought it was a well kept beauty. the huge battery means that she starts on the button everytime.

my advice to you is to absolutely make sure you have tall gearing. the boys here will tell you better than me but 15/48 is what you need. you don't want to be revving out in 6th unless you are flat on the tank in leathers.

the 470 is fragile with new kit in it. it runs a very, very high compression and is a MX on the street.

answer this simple question: which other manufacturers put their MX'ers on the road as well? and which continent are they NOT from?

run it in and you can only do that with sensible gearing. the previous owner was pulling wheelies everywhere and i think this is part of the situation. gera it right so you only pull them in first and then get on with yer ferkin riding.....

you won't know how fragile till you find out.... the hard way. i think i geared it up once for him but the rear sprocket was still too big and up to the customer. i wasn't his dad...

Taffy,

YOU ARE THE MAN!

What chance is there of finding someone with intimate/historical knowledge of my new bike f**kin A!

I am picking th bike up on Sunday in Liverpool from a guy who owns a garage. He bought it as a toy..... Turns out the guy who i've bought it from paid 1900 two months ago - must have been from 'justoutofjail' - anyhoo he has ridden it once and frightened the **** out of himself and quickly dumped it back on ebay! My gain!!! Came with MX wheels n all!!! All being well the bike starts its last move on Sunday..... To Glasgow. Pending frame and engine numbers checking out!

The condition can't be much different since the last time you saw it. The guy says the pictures don't do it justice. It has been lying since he bought it and is dusty, but a good clean up and I should be onto a winner.

If I could ask what should I be looking for condition wise when I go down and is there a good practice procedure for running this bike in as it has seen little or no action since (what I now know to be) the second engine rebuild. I'm not really a wheelie merchant anyway but from what I understand it will be difficult to keep the front down! Also - any idea where to buy a manual/servicing guide, can't find one specific to this model?

Many Thanks M8

well i'd look for smoke for a start and i might even leave the money as a deposit whilst i rode it. i'm not answering a question like how do i run it in. it's beneath you to ask it.

look for smoke on the overrun. ken (berger) is right about the model. my very strong advice is not to take the bike on the dirt. it just doesn't work in the Uk to take a minter on the dirt. it works better when a knarled up beaten dirt bike has the bonus of a pair of roadwheels but wreck it and learn. best way to learn anything in life is to learn it the hard way.

we have manuals here in our downloads section or go to husaberg.se which is the factory web site and do it there. we have permission here to hold them as well.

BTW, the last owner wasn't "unabvle to control the wheelies" he phones me at 2.30pm to say "do you sell yokes?".
"Why?"
"well i was doing a stoppie infront of my mate towards a wall and....."

2 hours later he was asking advice on stripping an engine.

i think you get the picture.

justr had a chat with scoot. some of you will remember him? from cambridge in the Uk. he owned this bike for a few years but sold it 2 years ago. that means i rebuilt the engine on a bike without knowing that i had put the keihin on it 4 years previously myself!

BTW, that's a 39 bored to 41mm by me.

Yep it was mine. Sold to a guy in Suffolk so i could buy a van a couple of years ago. It is a FC, the lighting etc was done by the dealer i believe and the big battery conv was done by another berg shop in yorks by the previous owner to me. My gallery still has the photo's of it .
Enjoy the Berg....
