Hi Guys,

So I am new to posting on a forum - it has never appealed to me BUT since researching and trolling through this forum I found some great info. Thanks for posting! :) Just bought a Husaberg FE570, 2011 with 255 hours on it - so its a high miler (11 000) km's but bike is super neat and well maintained.

Sold my '06 XR650R a few months back, spent the rest of the time looking for a bike, probably a KTM EXC but then the Berg became available, did a lot of research and with all the great reviews that the bikes get, decided to jump at it.

Just finished a service on it (Oil, filter, battery, cleaned air filter - twin air, chain and sprigs (13/52 combo - based on reviews) new coolant - not that it needed it, but for peace of mind. Fitted Trail Tech mapping switch. Bike is pretty much stock, frame guards, fancy hand guards but that is about it!

Cant wait to get the beast out for a good whipping soon! Thanks to everyone for posting all their ideas and advice :)

Cheers,

John

Thanks Guys ;) Bike is set to go, first ride on it tomorrow morning hopefully :)

Welcome to the HBF !! did you get that 570 off Kijiji there was 5 or 6 bergs on the Calgary site

berg

get a fan kit for the tight stuff. It will increase longevity of engine oil and clutch slave o ring by keeping engine temps down...You'll have to loosen subframe bolts to get the tank off in the future however. Carbon fiber pipe guard if it doesn't already have one. Pipe gets up to about 800 deg. F

I must have been asleep for that one?

Look at or replace front chain guide. Also look the other chain guides. If not chain may hit tire. Happened to both my 570's. Also when changing the oil there are 2 oil screens to look at clean/replace if needed oil filter of course. All super EZ to do. And Welcome. Some good stuff here

Thanks for the replies guys. Not entirely sure how to respond to each one, so will try in this reply:) @ PEI Mudder - yeah picked it up from Kijiji, ad has been taken down already. Fan kit was on the list - want to ride the bike first to see what it is like. Guessing it will be fun, but would like to try it out. Pipe has been ceramic coated and wrapped but no Carbon Fiber pipe guard - will have to do some research on that. Noticed a lot of guys do the wrap but have not seen many pics of the carbon fibre guard.

Thanks Rainerio for the advice on the chain guards, I did not spend much time checking them, but will do so. Current rear tire is used but still pretty new - don't see any chain damage on it as yet, but will check the guides. Changed the oil, filer, checked the oil screen that is next to the oil drain plug as well as the screen on the banjo bolt. Oil, filters, screens and magnetic drain plug were all absolutely spotless - much to my relief :)

Of course, 4 weeks of no snow and several week ends of great weather, only to wake up to snow and misery this morning :( Bleak! Don't have a set of studded tires for it yet :( Serviced, insured, registered, rearing to go.... but nowhere to go :(

Hope it clears up during the week, may have to take some time out of the office :))))

Cheers.

Cooling fan kit fitted, chain sliders seem ok. Hydraulic clutch oil changed for the clutch lever system....

Ready to rock 'n roll... Well, kinda...its still snowing.. :(

Tomorrows project might be a set of enduro tires and a couple of boxes of studs if the weather stays like this! :)

studs

stud it up!!! I was having a blast on some packed snowmobile trails last week. Just watch out for the soft patches. Did a few supermans over the bars into powder. 5/8" work great for a cheap thrill....

Holy smokes, managed to get out on the Berg today, what an awesome machine! Coming from an XR650R this thing is so light, nimble, handles well and whilst powerful, it is useable power, not as vicious as the XR. Lots and lots of fun! :)

You will know when the guide/guides are bad it will start to eat thru the top chain guard by the tire. It's the one that keeps oil off you and bike.
