I am considering getting a 97 FE501 but before I do, I want to be sure to do my homework. What can you tell me about this model? Good, bad, and the ugly.
This bike will be used only for riding in the woods in the Pacific NW as I have other bikes for MX, Vintage MX, etc.. I have two Husaberg dealers within a 50 mile radius and I do all my own work. Suspension rebuilts and complete engine overhauls are no problem for me to do so labor isn't an issue They are asking $1500 for the bike but I don't know the condition of the engine, electrical, or brakes as of yet.
What do you think?

I bought a 98 Berg FE501e about 8 months ago. I paid 1500 for it, and after I got to riding it I had come to find out it had some problems. Kinda misrepresented by the seller, long story. Anyway, I haven't seen too many Bergs go for much less than 1500. If your evaluation determines the bike to be in good shape, then I would say 1500 is fair. Anything less than 1500 would be a pretty good deal. You are lucky to have some dealers in your area, there are none around me.

I own a 96 FE 501 and overall it does real good. You might have to set the bike up to your riding style. Check on this site FAQ and read up some before you decide. Good luck
