Picked up my first Husaberg today. It's a 2001 fe400e that appears to be in great shape. Cranks right up but may need to be rejetted, I'm about 4000 feet higher elevation than the previous owner. Looking forward to perusing the forum and see what I've gotten myself into....

Looks great . I just scored a 2001 FC550. Rode it around the block. Can’t wait to get it in the desert.

that's a nice original 2001 you have there!

just the seat is different. looks like a 2004-2005 seat. I think I have an original seat cover for the 2001. BUT, you would take the shrouds off and put just bare panels on for riding and falling.

Best Berg. The new frame with the best of the first motor! Only use the e start as a restart. If the tappets appear to be getting loose replace the roller rocker bearings.....if you get used to not using the e start then ditch the battery and starter motor and you have a counterbalanced motor with a light weight. Looks great condition.

I can't agree with this.

The early starter motor versus the lack of compression from the 400 motor means for me, if everything is set up right, it'll start on the button everytime.

carburattion is wrong
choke is wrong
decomp is wrong
ignition timing is wrong

get these sorted and it'll start first time.

my mechanic videoing this at the end laughed..... probably knowing that this crap would continue to be spouted. I'm tired of it....

That’s about how quickly and smoothly this one starts. Sounds about the same also if not a tad noisier but I attribute that to the skid plate echoing the engine noise.
