Hi Guys
Great site you have going here. I poked around the internet and this seams to be the difinitive site for info.
I'm a long time rider and just recently sold a DRZ400SM that I worked on as a winter project. It was a lot of fun and now I have the opportunity to buy a new '05 650 in street legal supermoto trim for a good price so I have couple of ?.
I've searched around this site and I can tell there is a lot of info and a lot of very knowledgeable folks here.
But is this bike reasonably reliable given that in my city of over 1 million there is no dealer support. There is a KTM dealer though, a clueless one that is. I tried Google to find the closest dealer and got no where with that. I'm in Ottawa, Canada BTW.
I don't mind having a bike that is unsupported if it is reliable. Hell , I have the only Benelli TNT in a city of over a million people
I read lots on the whole bearing failure issue and that is concerning for sure.
I don't mind doing basic maintenance but tearing an engine apart to replace a bearing or a seal is more than I want.
The bike is for street and the occasional track day.
thanks for your input.
Gary
