Hi -
Picked up a 2003 fs650 the other day, lovely bike but a bit cosmetically challenged. Realising now how hard it is to source decent condition plastics and cant seem to find any nice graphics sets! Wouldn't mind converting to 2006-2006 plastics + tank etc if anybody has a set of them up for sale I'd be interested!

Came with all the 2004 manuals etc on disc and I've been having a read through them - are they still the same for 2003? Also read that the pre 2005 engines aren't good for wheelies due to the oil pump feed being at the front of the engine?
In the 2004 manual it shows that the oil pump takes feed from the back of the sump but the cam + valves are splash fed from the cam chain which looks toward the front of the engine in the diagram - is that where the issue comes about with wheelies or is the issue non existant, nobody seems to be able to give me a definitive answer and I'd rather not find out the expensive way!

For the TLDR - bought a fs650 and I like it.

Cheers!

at the moment i don't need any plastic, but like you at some point will need them so on my pc when i have some spare time I just look around

but I have never use them :)

ps. another suggestion is to look for parts on a different language i speak both english and italian when i was looking on ebay for an oil filter cover i couldn't find it

well i tried in italian and was there :)

try translating and you might get 50% more luck on parts

and welcome here by the way :)

no, defo not!

no, not true, same place as all other husabergs, there is no oil starvation on Husabergs and other than you writing it, i have never seen it written here or anywhere else? are you sure it isn't YOU that is not starting this rumour?

the cam chain delivers all you need. 2004-2008 bikes don't suffer poor oil circulation - they suffer from poor owner's that can't care for them properly and are rewarded with an international auction site that covers and rewards there lies and stupidity.

the good guys take one up the arse for the team unfortunately!

Thanks for taking the time to reply!

Is there anywhere I can get hold of a manual for my 2003 650 then? The links I've found on google either never load or aren't in english.

Yes I'm certain it's not me starting this rumour.
"Husaberg are great, light and mad engine power BUT they aren't good for stunting as far as I know, I've heard they'r really sensitive to oil starvation caused by too much wheelies. Several people have told me they break down much faster if you wheelie the bike a lot.

Might be possible to modify though, some extra oil in there and a better oil pump might do the trick" - that was found with less than 1 minute of googling. So I'm sure I've seen it in more than one place in the 8+ years I've been looking at getting a husaberg.
The bloke who I bought it off also mentioned the pickup was at the front of the engine so to be careful if you're planning on wheelying.

That's good the 2004-2008 bikes don't suffer from poor oil circulation... what about the 2003s?

I'll do my best to look after her.

Cheers Taffy

You'll find them here!:
Husaberg Service Manuals on-forum: Service Manuals - Husaberg Forum
Husaberg Manuals on community Google Drive (more stuff): https://goo.gl/Fa65bn

Use due diligence when buying from Taffy. It's probably never advisable to take all your info from one source, especially one who's after your money. And don't let him get to you if he starts being nasty.

the oil pickup is at the inside of the housing for the oil screen.
