Hey everyone,Iam a new member to the site and just got my first berg. A friend of mine just gave me a real clean old street titled 97 fc501e for free. Most recently I have been riding a 06 ktm 300 xcw and converted a 03 kx250 for street use. I love this old berg !! It has a ton of power ! I have been looking for a repair manual and parts and havent come up with much with it being so old. I need to find some rear wheel bearings and some fork guards some were. I havent checked with my local dealer for parts availability yet.

i used to get my wheel bearings from NAPA. my early bergs seemed to eat bearings. always kept a spare in the tool box.
when you change them, take time to clean up the inside of the hub, so your side to side clearances are right

Thanks for the replys !! I was wondering if a bearing supply house is what I would have to do. I never thought to try my local napa though. Are parts still available from the dealer for these old bikes ? I also need to find a steering stem nut somewere, Its... missing. Other than that some upper fork guards would be nice (there also gone).

you need flourescent yellow guards? if your bikes faded like mine was then i have some for you :D
soon enough you will find 97 model plastic very hard to find!!

send me a pm if your interested, welcome to the site

good luck on the wheel bearings, i got ktm hubs when i switch to supermoto and replaced the bearings in those hubs, they were easy to find even for the 1992 ktm 600 cush drive assembly, cant beleive all balls or sombody doest make a kit for the husaberg...

I couldn't find any bearings thru all balls or any Google searches either. I thought it was odd too. Pm sent also.

I just found a skid plate on ebay from ricochet offroad !! I was surprised to find someone still making them. At least I wont have to worry about smashing a cash up now. Parts should interchange 97-00 correct ?

I wouldn't bother with all balls. Chinese junk. Just take the bearings out. If you can't read the number, they will measure them for you at the shop. Ever since I looked in a new bearing and saw how little grease there is, I started popping out the seals and adding some waterproof grease before install.

All balls isn't a option as far as I have found anyways. There is a bearing supply house fairly local that I can try.

OK dumb question, went to order a oil filter and they are telling me the bike uses 2 ? Kn lists 2 filters 155 and 157. I thought there was just a screen and 1 canister filter ? Am I wrong ?

Wish I knew - but I can say that it would be cool to see some pics of the thing :) Best of luck and much fun to you!

Thank you. Picked one up today. I will try to grab some pics of it this weekend. These old bergs have a lot of character. That why I love it.
