Hello all,

New to the forum (and to this enduro - roll in dirt thing).. Just got my first enduro bike, a husaberg fe450 - 2008

This forum has a wealth of info regarding bergs. I already found valuable data / explanations regarding weep hole leaking oil etc..(I'm new to European bikes - thumpers and when a jap bike owner sees oil dripping from the water pump usually gets a stroke, bergs seem to require a more "relaxed" mentality...)

anyway, I'm happy i found this place, best wishes - happy rides from Greece :D

Husaberg designed the oil weep into all their bikes so that the owners keep an eye on the level

Enjoy your Berg and the dirt

I guess I just got used to looking at mine, because at 100 hrs
it's still weeping

Well, i don't know if it's of any value, but i found the oil level to be too high, i usually like it to be in the middle of the glass 'eye'... When my bike was hot the oil level was covering completely the glass thingy, so it was probably too much - probably causing excess pressure in the oil circuit thus the oily tears from the weep hole :p ...

When i changed the oil, i put less oil than 1 lt (about 800-900 ml) and now it's ok, no problems whatsoever plus it doesn't get that hot so easy (excess oil causes overheating)..... I guess the guys that did the last service put the manual recommended quantity without checking the level, this never works in any bike, eg in my gsxr, the manual says 3 ltrs, because of my suspension setup 3 ltrs is too much, 2.7 is the proper quantity now, otherwise the crankshaft will be more submerged in oil than it has to and overheating and other bad things will occur (the oil pressure relief valve would probably be working overtime etc...)...

Too much oil is worse than a bit less (i change oil when the gearbox starts complaining, so it's always sooner than what the manual says).......
