Hi from Idaho! I'm the proud new owner of an awesome 2010 450 FX and hoping to get a chance to ride it before winter really sets in. PXL_20241224_003948435.jpg

It already has some cool aftermarket stuff but I'm looking forward to adding a few more things. If anyone has suggestions/part numbers I'd be grateful! My buddy has the manual I'll try to cross reference eventually if I can.
  • Spark arrestor screen for akrapovic muffler (model sa-001)
  • Headlight and tail/brake light, (they will plate anything here, it's easy) Not sure if I should go OEM or aftermarket. Reliability is the main goal, we ride a lot of tight single track so it has to be tough. Looks like the taillight connectors are already under the seat so it might be an easy addition.
  • Gauge/odometer - maybe OEM or Trail Tech Vapor. Any chance the hours are stored on the bikes computer, is there a way to find that if the hour meter is gone?
Looking forward to comparing notes, meeting you cool Berg riders and putting a ton more hours on this great machine!

go oem if you want to retain the oem plug connectors and reliability.

Otherwise aftermarket is fine if you're ok with cutting and splicing in your own connectors.

I believe hours are stored in bike's instrument gauge/odometer, not in computer/cdi box.
if the odometer is gone, then history of hours is also gone.

Thanks for the input! I'm leaning towards the factory harness and rear light and license plate bracket, having those OEM should keep everything looking clean. Plus, the more stock it looks the less I'll get hassled by the Man!

Makes sense the hours are in the gauge, I suspected that was the case. I don't think the FX came with an odometer and I don't see an hour meter. There are two sets of spare wires behind the number plate, I'm guessing one was for that.
