On my 07 650 I check the valves every 20-40 hours or so and virtually never need to adjust them. Oil every 5-7 hrs with Delo 400 15/40, with filters @ +/- 20 hrs. I don't rev mine a lot as I do a lot of single track stuff at times, and for that type of riding its torque and clutch, not revs, so maybe thats why my valves are good. Most others don't have valve problems though either.

Lots of good info in the doc.

sounds good i will change the oil as i have a 6 hour ice race this weekend. i prefer to ride in low rpm's so this bike is a blast so far. i will say i dont like the left side kick start but with a loose battery terminal tightened up the e start should be working good now.

accident & emergency. it's the quick entry to a hospital...

well the 6 hour ice race was cut short to 3 hrs. the bike ran awesome even though it was -30 out 8O i just need to make a few setup changes but so far so good. cant wait to get more seat time

any chance is there a cross reference part number so i can get fork seals from the local ktm dealer for my bike?

Any 48 mm USD WP fork seal will do to the best of my knowledge.

Steve

due to the lack of knowledge of the parts people at the dealer and myself whats a ktm model that would have those forks? 07 525? 08 530?
thanks

Dunno, take a set of callipers to the dealer and check floor stock?

the latest aftermarket bling thing on fork seals are the blue SKFs as fitted to 2011 KTM/bergs

cheapest way to get hold of them is through a KTM dealer

17 OIL SEAL RING 48X57,8X9,5 03
48600347

19 DUST CAP D=48 58,4X11,8
48600400

there are also KYB bushings that fit and are supposed to be an improvement over WP I'll dig up the numbers later if it helps, best way to get those is through a suspension specialist or direct from technical touch in Europe or get the whole lot from MX-tech in the states.
