Hello all,

Im Daz, Joined up last week after i bought my New Toy,

Its a 2002 Fe560 thats been converted to SM spec, excell rims talon hubs, Whitrepower SM forks from a 2004 FS650 as well the as the big brake.

Got the bike fairly cheap (£1300)

Ive set the suspension up for my weight and got it set up quite well yesterday.

Went out for a ride this afternoon and the bugger died on me (see mechanical section)

A bit about me,I live Near Banbiry just North of Oxford in the UK, im 26 years old. Been racing MX since i was 5, currently race a honda CRF450. Ive got a Suzuki TL1000R as a road bike, but alot of my mates have been buying SM's so i had a hunt about and found the Berg.

Love the Bike, handles awesome, real strong motor very powerfull.

A few things about it, Uts got this Hi/Lo switch on the Bars which is apparently the SEM Dual ignition Curve witch.

I understand that it changes between 2 preset ignition maps.

However that is all the info i can find. What exactly is the difference? is it user adjiustable with say a laptop and the correct soft ware?

Also any tricks on starting the bloody thing? im sure there is knack to doing it, ijust dont know it, lol. it has no ES Kick only.

welcome daz

read you mechanical woes mate!

there is nothing really 'electronic' about the dual ignition curve. it's just an earthing system that alters the ignition map crudely but effectively!

starting is real knack but we have sh**loads of stuff written on it in the doc and old threads that you need to chase up yourself.

regards

Taffy

Daz, i hope you get the bike sorted. Im new to this Husaberg lark too with an FS 650. Im not too far away from you if you ever fancy a ride out let me know. Im still learning my way around the bike so cannot help much with the technicallities though.

Thanks for the replies Guys, The problem has been found (see mechanical thread for fullins and outs etc)
Petorius, helloe there, I am good friends with the guys at Robson Racing in Shipston, and John at Jebs does my Dyno tuning.
I haunt the north banbury roads alot so will deffo have to meet up for a ride. Do they still have a wednesday night up at Hatton?

Daz

Daz, hope its just the cam chain and doesn’t get too expensive. I had a chain riveted on a Ducati I had at Robsons last year and it seems a very good operation they have there. I also met Jonathan last year as a colleague in Sweden was after a Fireblade engine for his race bike. The Waterman seems to be going strong still especially when the sun shines, I made it there a few times last year on a Wednesday night. Send me a PM when you are around, I think we are thin on the ground in this part of the world. Hoping to have the odd day at Kinsham later in the year, a kart track near Leominster, which is not terribly big but open to SMs on a Wednesday.

Regards,
Mark

I found the Kart track and gave them a ring, every wednesday 10am - 4pm is SM day, £50, the track doesnt look to bad, its 900mtrs so not to bad, Google earth shows a really good pic of it.

We coulod may be sort out a mini meet 1 wednesday.
