Good day to all,

Just nabbed a 2012 FE390, with 7 hours and 142 miles on it. Tis a spanker and I'm a very happy chappy!

Been off-roading (trail riding) in the UK for two and a half years on a 2004 Honda CRF 250x. Had great fun and learned quite a bit. Having said that, I was not prepared for the ommph that the 390 has! It's a beautiful thing:)

Next job is to put some hours on it and then find a decent dealer in the Surrey area of UK. Going to need to get the rear spring changed and the suspension setup correctly. After all, pointless spending hard earned cash on something so capable and then having it setup like a bag of spanners!

Any advice and pointers gratefully received!

Thanks

Mudeevee

First proper ride on the FE390 today. 120 miles of trail riding in Surrey/Hampshire.

Love the bike! It ran flawlessly all day and never missed a beat. Think it'll be a keeper!

Morning Chaps.
Also my first Burg after having others the last being a 450 Husky, you just can't compare the two bikes, its nuts.
Awesome to here you enjoying it as much as the rest of us, the 2 things I found most surprising about my 12-390 was that keeping it in the upper rev range even on the slower single paths made it easier to flick left, right as you had instant power to point and squirt.
Second was the suspension the harder/faster you hit the rough stuff the better inline the suspension coupes with this and gives you even more confidence. This bike is amazing, wheelie king of note because the power delivery is that smooth, I'm one of 7 rides that go out with the group, the only 4t at times and boy this thing climbs the technical stuff better than the 2T's most times, bottom end torque is awesome, like a tractor.
Enjoy your ride, I'm out in South Africa so loads of open area this side of the world. :bounce:

A big welcome to both of you. I'll have to apologize for the communities lack of commenting. They get confused in months that begin with "A" and are still probably trying to find their keyboards :D

Consider taking a moment to place your pins and check out your neighbors on the member map and let me know if there's anything you need help with while on the site.

thanks,

Hi mudeevee
Hallo and welcome to the site from a Gloucestershire member, im sure you will enjoy your 390.
i have ridden south from here as far as Salisbury there are some nice trails down there but have not been as far as Hampshire yet. If you ever get the chance to adventure to Wales give it a go, all i can say it is amazing everything you could ask for in one place.
I ride a 570/450 depending what mood i'm in as to what engine i use but must say the 450 is more fun, i have yet to ride the 390 it would be interesting to try one some day.
Midwest racing would probably be best bet for parts they are very helpful and know what there talking about.
Anyway have fun on your new machine.

Hi Mark,
I've ridden a few times in Wales and organised a few trips round the plains. Both great fun!
My next 'longer' outing will be from Guildford to the plains. Overnight somewhere. Then head towards Bath/Bristol. Overnight somewhere. Then ride back. Going to try and take in as many off road trails/ucr's as I can.

Lovin the 390!
