Hey guys, I'm posting this incase someone can benefit from my experience.
About three months ago I bought a new 2010 FS 570.Being my first berg, I was obviously very happy with the bike but as I got used to it and got the chance to ride it more often, I didn't feel as though it was running as well as it should be. At 1000ks I put it in for the 1000k service.. I asked the dealer to be sure to plug the computer into the ecu and check that all was as it should be.
Anyhow , they installed new mapping and it is like a completely different bike. Before the bike would always backfire when I was off the gas and seemed to surge and generally just feel like a chore to ride although the bike still had good power.
With the new map the bike runs crisp , you crack the throttle and it is really snappy, has more power and just runs like a different bike, smooth fast and gear changes are even smoother.
I spoke to two different guys at the bike shop and one says the original map was a euro spec map for the emission laws the other said they installed what was a new mapped issued as an upgrade for Australian bikes?...

Regardless, if you have bought a new fe/fs 570 and have experienced backfiring and feel like the bike isn't right- be sure the dealer has the latest map installed in your bike.
Someone else told me that most dealers install a different map when doing the pre- delivery on Australian bikes.

Anyway the bike kicks *** now and I'm loving it. Hope this helps someone...

Just need this rain to let up here in Brisbane now and I can put some more ks on it.
Feel free to let me know if anyone is ever keen for a ride up Mt Glorious - I'm yet to see another berg on what would have to be some of the best roads for a bike in Aus.

Merry Xmas to all.

I can relate. My 390 2010 runs lean and as soon as I can will bring it to a dealer 3 hrs away to have my ecu reflashed. I've found that Malcolm Smith in Riverside, CA have the right map that Mark recommended. So looking forward to it.. :D
