New Liners coated or uncoated ?

Hi All,

I am rebuilding a 2005 FS650 motard that looks like it had been allowed to breath in some sand/grit of some kind.
Liner is scored to the point of just being able to pick up the marks with a finger nail and the piston has very small hard, what looks like sand grains, embedded in the sides of the piston with marks on the side like its run on sand. Also main bearings are shot. Could be case hardening of bearings ?
I did notice that the original liner had hone marks on it and I thought that maybe the previous owner did a poor dyi job and this was the reason for the failure.
So I bought a brand new liner from a KTM/HUSABERG dealer only to find that this to has hone marks !!
I thought these items are nikasil coated . I assumed that this plating would be a standard matt even colour of some type but not look like a cast iron honed barrel.

Do they coat and then hone back the nikasil ?

I want to keep this bike so I want the rebuild to last so I am looking at Taffy's dual valve springs , Iwis cam chain, Wossener piston and a new liner and new crank. Any other recommendations?

Are the NJ206 roller bearings the way to go ? Bike wont be raced.

Any assistance is appreciated.
