Thanx to the french site motards-online

First out is the 450 SuMo with some new plastic and what looks like a new frame. I am currently trying to get more info out of the guys here in Sweden about it. One of the engineers is a SuMo-racer in the swe-champs....

Very very interesting. Dale would love to get his hands on the DTX model, I am sure!

Is it me or they use the airbox-in-the-frame trick?

What kind of engine regulations do they have. Is the 950cc ok??

The black box under the seat is the gas tank. Airbox is located where you normally find the tank. The battery is located where the catch tank from the force parts is located (just in front of the swing arm).

looks like the frame is cast rather than welded as the mk1 450 mx was.
they still have the mk1 pic up on the highland web so compared them side by side. looks like they have made a few changes.
have they released them yet?

Is it me, or does this bike look redonkulously clean???

I think Parsko meant "uncluttered" and yes it does, it looks like there should be more to it...

Thats the whole idea :D
The bike has E-start and EFI and still does look so slim. I think that is GREAT !

Unfortunately... rumor has it that Martin Lind has been seen a little bit too much around Highland lately :(
Don't actually know what is going on since a little birdy told me that there are going to be 3 'Berg riders in the W-SM-C next year.......

I own a new Highland V-Twin engine. Said engine resides in the same "American Made C&J Dirttrack chassis " as that pictured. Unfortunately Highland has yet to deliver new V-Twins for the US market making what I own illegal for AMA competition.

Best Regards,
Dale

When I participated in the Swedish national Championship in Östersund, there was a Highland factory rider there racing a Husaberg with Highland stickers. I don't think the Highland bike was ready back then :) This was in July.

Aha, so we've met. Sort of at least.

The Highland rider was Ola Eifrem, last years winner in the 450cc class, and the bike was actually a HVA TC450. He waited all season long for them to get a Highland ready enough to race but they didn't get any prepared enough. Next year he is in Suzuki Team 1 together with the Stambeck brothers.

Oh, it wasn't a Husy. I had a stuff race, but the track was VERY nice. How did you get on?

Some pictures here if you'd like to see:

hmmmm, don't like the tight tracks, had just installed the new slipper clutch with no time to test it. Didn't make the main event. Lousy weekend.

It's my bike with the #86 in this picture

Holy crap :?

Don't forget that I stalled in the start of that race and didn't get it restarted until the rest of you were over the jump for the first time (excuses, excuses, haha)...

Take a look at the second race 8)

I was on top of Magnus the entire race but wasn't aggressive enough unfortunately.

FOr me is soooo beautifull an the new autentic swedish motorcycle, i only need knows the price and where i can buy it

Just as the Highland V-twin, the 450 is originating from the swedish motor engineering company Folan. Folan (founded by Freddy Olsson - LArs Nilsson) designed the 450 for Cannondale, but as they never came about to produce it, Highland bought the design. Check out www.highland.se

As Folan is only 8km from my doorstep, I'm no stranger there.
