This past weekend/race was the first time with the new 46 tooth rear sprocket....... (14T front already) Wow.......At the start line its second gear for sure !!! for starts
I have had to change my riding style quite abit, as too much throttle in third wheelies quite easily.... second is crazy fun..... on the back stretch the bike gathers so much speed its really hard to gauge where to brake and shift goin into turn one........I'm gettin into 5th gear now at about 60 (100 Kmh's) and shutting off about 70 (120 Kmh's) bike is still pulling easily in 5th...... I left my rain tires on as the weather looked sketchy, needless to say my new found power pretty much destroyed my back tire $$$$$$
I feel quite comfy with the bike now so its time to really pay attention to my skills....(or lack there of) I'm far from placing top 5 but I am learning just to relax and have fun....... ! As you all know we seem to do better when loose and smiling :)

I just recently went from the stock 15/38 sprocket set to 15/42 on my 2005 FS650S.

The stock gearing is very tall to help pass testing but the bike would still power wheelie thru the first three gears. Now the bike will power wheelie up thru fouth gear. Woohoo! Maybe I can now begin to sometimes use 6th gear without bogging the motor.

Not sure if I would want/need to put a bigger rear sprocket on to wheelie it in 5th & 6th gear. :D

I use 15/42 on my 450FC (Supermoto) and rarely use 1st. It all depends on the track layout of course, but 14/46 sounds extremely low....
Do you ever use 1st?

I use 1st in and out of the pits....for the track never......maybe on the bigger roadrace style tracks I might see 6th ??.... so far I love the gearing, even the built 525SMR's can't hang with the stock and super quiet Berg (they still hear the gear whine though :D )
