Just bought my first dirt bike . Got a 2005 fe450. Friend crashed it the first day I got it and broke his thumb . Wondering if y’all got any tips for someone green to bikes to look for and inspect and get tuned up before I go rip it on some trails? Any general advice about these bikes would be appreciated hard to know what I don’t know.

good bike. a little violent on the low speed throttle. no real reliability issues with the 2005s.

just do the valve clearances every 3 days riding. carb will block the PJ in the winter if not starting it.

that's about it really.
