congrats

Johns eats my Fi Fiddy for breakfast and no dif in the tight

best bike ever, I did love my Fe450e, BUT this Fe550e is clearly the superior bike. no gappy ness, power everywhere, tall stock gearing/ need to drop a tooth on the CS, kicking fun, FAST n nimble. SWEET.

after 3 hours of riding at about 40 miles, the bike after running PERFECT started stalling each time I came to a stop. Bike ran rough the rest of the way back to truck, like a six cylinder car with one cylinder not firing. rough and uneven. after washing it at home, bike started good, ran ok, but holding throttle open slighly the bike would like mis a step every 3 seconds or so.???

maybe the long carb hoses got water in them? maybe I broke it end to much? maybe ??/

Not to hijack this thread but I am interested in your problem with slight throttle and missing/running rough

My FS650 with 3-4hrs on it just started doing the same thing - I am puzzled by it....

At just crackled throttle it misses and bucks/spits until you get into the throttle abit and then it sorts out - kinda like a loaded up 2 stroke.

Cheers

Mark

Often we think only the piston and rings and other major engine parts that are affected by what we refer to as break-in.The truth is every moving part from your wheel bearings to the throttle cable has a break-in period as well.In both your cases I suspect that some seating of the carb parts has taken place and an adjustment of the low speed fuel screw accessed from the bottom of the carb is now in order.

yeah that was my feeling too. like something adjusted on me.

I want to install an extended fuel screw. I would have drawn it in some.

we'll see how tomoorrow goes.

Love the new RIDE. Great bike WOW!

Hey Big Bob,
That's how mine went during break-in. After it is warm, blip the throttle. If it dies, screw the low speed mixture screw in or out until it revs cleanly. Once it was broke in, the low speed mixture screw was adjusted out 1-1/2 turns and I haven't touched it since. It could also be a little water in the float bowl.

thanks, seems to be running well in the garage now. I'll pick up an extended fuel screw this week. what sprocket gearing is on yours?

Another small thing to do Bob is bleed the cooling system with the bleed screw by the spark plug.

Big bore is god isn't it? :)

ya know I could never find that bleed screw on my 450 by the owners manual doc, it looks to be up front in the owners manual photo? I'll look by the spark plug for it. Got all day today to work on it. I have to buy some nylon spacers and get the muffler off the rear tire, allready got big rub marks. and I have to offset the front fender too, get it off the rad guards. Standard 2006 model fixes.

This bike is so freaking refined. It's like you know the whole husaberg line is centered around this bike. AMEN!

for you 450 owners yes I was faster on the 450 in the single track trees, the Fe450e is a great enduro machine, but I bet with time aand technique I improve my speed some with the 550 in the trees as time goes by. What I don't miss from being on the 450 was that power gappyness in the gears when on more open trails that I spoke of so often, the over square of the motor bore/stroke volume as Dale called it. the 550 has none of that, it has power everywhere in each gear. oooh baby!

Regarding Huskys, the FE550e is better then the TE510 in the trees because it has no engine breaking or very little, so it floats more better in the trees, while the TE510 has heavy engine breaking, yet a nice close ratio tranny..........yada yada, the real test will be in the desert. I loved my 05 Te510 in the desert. We'll have to make a trip soon with my new 550. Bottom line the FE550e is better in the trees then the TE510, no question there.

i've had that misfire on my yam and that was when it was running VERY rich! it sounds as though it's too low in the revs to be needle but if the FS doesn't sort it then drop the needle not once but twice even...

regards

Taffy
