total,
It is somewhat normal to find water in the carb boot if pressure washing. You may want to stuff a rag in the boot before washing, just remember to remove it. I would check the boot and clamps to be safe. You will also want to remove the ignition cover after washing as well to let it dry out. Also, try to avoid spraying the swing arm and steering head bearings as they seem to be alergic to moisture as well.

Your also going to find oil accumulation in the exact same place as the crankcase vents directly to the backbone of the frame. This is where the two airfilters attach. The best method practice I think is to wash the outside without spraying water directly under the fuel tank. Remove the fuel tank and carefully wash around the air filters. Remove the air filters and clean them. Use paper towels and clean the oil and water from the carb boot and also clean the inside of the frame backbone. I like to wad up two sheets of paper towel and take a long screwdriver to "wipe out" the inside of the frame. Once in awhile you may want to disconnect all the hoses and hose out the frame. If you don't feel like cleaning the airfilters everytime you wash the bike just don't wash it so often.

Congratulations on your new bike and just to reiterate Bergers advise always remove the ignition cover after washing and dry it out, it will be wet.

On the 2000 onward bike that dont have the side mounted air filter I have found that if you are getting water in air boot after washing it is almost certainly getting in at the boot frame junction. If you silican seal top of boot to frame it will eliminate water being able to run down the frame and seaping through the junction and into the boot. After doing this I can pressue wash up under tank area and dont get any water in boot. Prior to it I was getting water in every time no matter how careful I was.
