I have just purchased 2005 fs650e with 135 hours/4500 miles on the clock.
This is the service history of the bike that I got from previous owner:
- April 2010/75hours: oil filter, headgasket, clutch gasket, WP gasket, 2X inlet valves, 2X exhaust valves, 2x exh springs, 2x valve spring kit, coolant, oil.
- March 2011/82hours: balance weight, 628 rod kit, headgasket, clutch cover gasket, chain link, waterpump gasket, 2x main bearings, comp ring, oil ring
- November 2011/91hours: cam sprocket, cam chain, chain guides, decomp bob weight, head gasket, oil filter, sump plug thread insert
- February 2011: Water pump bearing, water pump seal, water pump gasket
- March 2012/97 hours: spark plug, battery, carb drained
The only thing that has been replaced since than was oil and oil filter.
So my question is - is it a good idea to rebuild engine now? Bike work great, it is powerful and nothing is leaking. I just want to get your opinion because I have not owed high maintenance bike like that before.
