I just bought a 2004 FS650. I was smiling from ear to ear as I was leaving the dealer, I was impressed with the torque this thing has! I had a fun 45 minute ride home but as I got into town the bike died when I pulled up to a stop sign. Battery was dead. Thought maybe the dealer just didn't charge it. Got it home and put it on the charger. Went to fire it up the next day and the starter just free spins. Got it started by pulling in the decompression lever to get the starter moving. But again after an hour of riding the battery is dead again. Took it back to the dealer and they're telling me "that's just how the bike is designed". They tested the battery, it's good. Stator output is 13.4v, 12.3v with the headlight on. They also bench tested the starter and say it's good as well. It just doesn't make sense to me that a bike is only good for an hour before the battery is dead. Kicking over a 650 is not something I want to do all the time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long post.
