Well my fellow Husabergers, I have an update to one of my previous posts. Last week I finally made a decision on a new bike for the lady and made the purchase. I picked up a brand new off the show room floor 2005 Honda CRF150F for the wife after much investigating and thought from you guys on the post......

...... I went with the slightly higher displacement bike than what Dale had suggested because the CRF100F (XR100) just seemed like it would get out grown in a few months. The CRF150 offered the same as the CRF100 but a little more room to grow into. Thanks Dale for all your help and input in the discussions we had over the phone and in the forums. Thanks to everyone else also for your input and all recommendations were carefully considered.
The ride:
The day we got the bike we spent several hours going over the bike and teaching her how to use the clutch, throttle, brake and choke. After two hours with a 30min break in between, she has gotten the kick start routine down and can now fire it up in no more than three kicks. Ran next to her around the block for an hour telling her to pull in the clutch and shift and she got the shifting down with the occasional missed shift into neutral. Took her out the next day to the desert and rode a flat area with some hills and she was able to ride with only one fall in four hours of riding and that was coming to a stop she forgot to put her foot down!!! Geeezzzz! No big deal, chances are she will never let that happen again. All in all, she really likes the bike and expressed her gratitude to me later that night!! She is very exited to go riding and we have plans to go next week and do some more beginner riding. I was unable to take the Berg out this week with here because I ordered a promotobillit spark arrestor to put on the Berg but it had not arrived and I already took the end cap off Brutus Maximus and did not want to put it back on just to rip it off again in a few days.
Anyways, thanks to all who gave feedback on the bike decision all info was used in my decision making process. Any other feedback is most welcome. Take care all and we'll see you on the trails!
Regards,
