Hey friends, I've been a little quiet lately but just found a good reason to shout to the world a bit. I'm proud to say I bought a brand spank'in new 2005 FE550e from the good guys at Bike Barn in southern Oregon. Dave had the bike sitting pretty for me when I arrived Thursday morning. After going over details and talking Husaberg for a few minutes, we wheeled her outside and with a push of the button she awoke to a very crisp note! Dave and Kurt had a very sweet "out the door" price on this bike and I couldn't be happier with the way I was treated. I wish them the best with their new Husaberg business. Thanks guys!
The bike came setup with dualsport goodies such as factory mirror mounts with mirrors, turn signals with indicator, high/low beam indicator, brake light switches front and rear all of which apparently were added because it was a Euro specified bike which ended up being sent stateside.
I haven't had a chance to begin breaking it in as I've just been swamped with work deadlines. I have started her a few times and must say pulling the choke knob and giving her just one kick really brings on the grin. (Dang this bike has alot of compression though. I actually have to use the compression release to get her over the hump). She will start cold on the button but being a long-time Berg owner, I know the cold-start kick is the way to go.
Time to do some owner's manual reading on setting the sag, learning the computer functions etc. I'm still savoring that "new bike look" as I know all too well, once I go for a rip in the Tillamook Burn, she won't be looking quite the same ever again.
Maybe this will get me out of my shell!
