New Akrapovic for FS 570

Hello there!

As the topic title reads i have recently bought a new Akrapovic Slip-on for my beloved FS 570 2011. The question i have though is if this model with serial number SXS12500512 is actually meant to work well with the 570? and if it does how good of an performace increase can i expect?

When i ordered through my dealer we ordered with a serial number that pops up on most websites that specifically says it will work with the whole FS/FE range but when i picked it up today they had sent one with the serial from above. They said something about that this is the new model and serial that has replaced the old one, but on the box it even says its for the KTM 350/450/500's. Im just a bit unsure and dont want to put something on my husa that will hurt it, decrease performace, and/or shorten its lifespan.

Any answers greatly appreciated!

Thx!

should be fine. You wont hurt it ;)

Slipons dont give any peak horsepower gains, but provide a small amount of extra grunt through the midrange. It will make the motor feel a bit more 'lively'

I took the leap and mounted the slipon and boy does exhaust note sound great! for those who are interested ill post a link to a short clip of it!

I have another question though, and this is maybe not at all exhaust related, but for you who watch the clip, does the engine itself seem very loud? it seems to me pretty loud, and on other clips i see of 570's the engine seems much quieter. Then ofcourse quality of camera and sound of the video can play tricks, but in my clip its really justified especially near the end. Has barely 1 hour on it and it will maybe get better as parts wear in? i have also read around about the cam chain ticking but im unsure if thats what im hearing with mine. This is my first bike and am pretty new to everything with a single cylinder and 2 wheels, so im a bit of a nervous wreck as soon i hear something i havent before. But better safe than sorry, therefor im asking!

Thx again!

My motor sounded the same when it was new. After 10-15 hours it starts to settle down, and gearbox will be alot smoother too.

Just change oil after 1 to 1½ hours of first use, and next time around 5h mark. Remember to clean both mesh filters!!! Lower filter is right there where the oil drain plug is, next to it and opens with 13mm spanner. Upper filter is bolted on the head with banjo bolt. Right above exhaust port where the oil feed tube from bottom end comes. Then it's just 5-6h for regular oil changes and valve adjustments every 50h or longer, if you change your oil often and keep it clean. These motors needs clean oil to run good if you don't wanna repair it every weekend!

My 2011 FS570 has about 60h of use and valves haven't moved since I checked them first at 10h mark. Checked them every 20h mark to be sure. Although I installed DJH manual chain tensioner at 40'ish mark, because I don't trust automatic tensioners. Maybe a little quieter valve train with new tensioner, and cool blue looking cnc trick part. 8)

Is the PN 81205079000 for Husaberg akro can the same akro can as the SXS PN# for the KTM 530? There is a big price difference between the two..
