Hey folks , long time lurker here, from the east coast of Canada ,great site you have here btw. I'm trading my 2007 550fe in tomorrow for a new in the crate leftover 2010 fe 450. Couple questions At 230 lbs I'm wondering if the rear spring I have from my 07 will fit ,and also what map setting do new bikes come in and is there that much difference ,if so what is the best route to go as far as sourcing a map switch.
Cheers

Hello Thumper. As far as the spring goes I don't know if it will fit but i'm sure somebody else will answer that for you. For the map switch I am using the 70 Degrees map switch on my 2010 FE570 and I like it alot, I can definately feel the difference between the settings (mild-stock-wild), I use the the mild setting when in tight single track or rock gardens because it is less abrupt and then of course the wild setting is just a pure adrenalin rush when you grab a handful of throttle :D

Hey I am 230 lbs and ordered a 76 nm spring from ktmparts.org and it is perfect.. you can take both springs off and just try to swap.. shouldnt be rocket science.. just try

Hey Big Blue are you indicating that you can change the map on the fly or must you stop first?

You can't change maps without an engine stop no matter what switch you use. The ECU isn't that clever.
