I GOT MY NEW 390 TODAY AND CAN'T USE IT!!

WHEN I PRESS THE E START BUTTON THE STARTER ENGINE SOUNDS BUT IT IS SLIDING INSIDE THE MOTORCYLE ENGINE AND DO NOTHING, JUST SOUNDS ON BUT THE MOTORCYCLE ENGINE WONT ROTATE.. AFTER A COMPLETE AND FRUSTRATING DAY OFF DOING ANY KIND OFF TEST (BATTERY CONTACTS, FULLY CHARGED BATTERY, CONECTORS, ETC) I TURNED OUT THE ELECTRIC STARTER TO SEE IF I COULD SEE SOME THING ABNORMAL, THEN I TRIED TO ROTATE THE ENGINE FREEWILL GEAR CPL THAT CONNECTS WITH THE E STARTER CPL WITH MY FINGER AND IT LOOKS GOOD (IT ROTATES FREE COUNTER CLOCKWISE AND IT IS BLOCKED CLOCKWISE) THEN WITH THE E STARTER CPL IN MY HANDS Y PRESSED THE E START BUTTON AND I SAW THAT THE E STARTER SHAFT WAS ROTATING THE OPPOSITE SIDE THAT IT SHOULD ROTATE (THE E-STARTER SHAFT WAS ROTATING COUNT CLOCK WISE). ANY ADVISE ???
THANKS.

Is your battery installed the wrong way around? Postive to Negative and Negative to Positive?

I checked all connectios and they are OK, I pushed the motorcyle and turns on very fast, maintain iddle good and OK!! the problem is with the e-start, my battery is fully charged.

You have reverse polarity at some point between the starter and the battery. If indeed it is turning in the wrong direction. Indeed very strange. I have a call into Husaberg for you. I will let you know what they say.

Hey mark thanks for your reply.. I Have a new 2010 ktm 450, I took the e starter and tried in the berg 390 and had the same problem, for what I could see the berg engine rotates oposite as the ktm so I changed the polarity inside the e starter and now the engine it is moving correctly with the e starter so that point is SOLVED!! I think may be it was an error from the factory (maybe the husaberg e starter engine should rotate clockwise, while the KTM e starter engine rotates counter clock wise) MAY BE I AM TALKING ******** BUT I THINK IT HAS COMMON SENSE, I could solve that problem that way!!!

NOW I HAVE ANOTHER PROBLEM:

When you try to turn on the engine with the magic button the bike dosen't turn on, the spark plug it is not getting power (spark), I checked all the connectors, cables, battery, etc and every thing looks good, if I push the bike it turns on very fast and the FI light it does not give me any error .. So this new bike is really driving me crazy!!!

Get a voltmeter and measure the voltage at various points - starting with the battery. If you have reversed connections somewhere, they should show up as a negative voltage. A voltmeter is your friend.

Mark I just solve all my problems, I went to the bike and checked all the cables again and they were some inverted cables from the e satarter.. John never contacted me, but hopefully the problems are gone and tomorrow I will be rocking that new berg!!!

Thanks.

Are you saying that a new Berg came in the crate with the cables reversed where they connect to the starter motor?

Awesome Kurt! I bet that one was intended as an Aussie bike, every thing is the opposite over there. They drive on the wrong side of the road and their toilets flush in the opposite direction. I'm glad it was the simple reverse polarity problem. Hope enjoy the bike. Heck I know you will!

NO! I live in Venezuela and the dealer in the US send me the bike in many parts, I did the mistake to put the cables inverted not the factory!!!

OK hope all goes well from here on for you,its a great bike!
Is fuel really like 10 cents a gallon in venezuela?
