I had a broken battery post that did same thing. Is the starter turning the engine over??? and it not getting spark
Or is it totally dead? did you unplug the kill switch.

So you are saying that the bike will start and run if you push it, but, it will not run or start when you use the electrical starter?

Since you have checked all of the connections for proper fitment........ did you visually check them, or did you give them a push to make sure that they were seated properly?

When you hit the electrical start button very quickly and let go, does the FI light turn on and you can hear the electric fuel pump run for a few moments?

And the electric starter does turn the motor over, it just doesn't start?

The way the fuel pump get's power works something like this. There is a what I call a power relay located on the down tube of the frame, this relay is what transfers the power from the battery to the fuse box from the battery. This power relay connects the battery to the fuse box once the engine starts to turn over, this keeps the battery from getting run down b/c the battery get's disconnected from all the accessories. The only exception is that there is a hot wire that runs from the battery to the starter button.
