Re: torque for my head

Well what do you know, Dale to the rescue again.
All those years going in circles seems to be of some value after all.

Dry threads 32 lb/ft
You will feel the stud yield which is a bit creepy.

Once upon a time I had Grade 10 studs manufactured which enabled a torque value increase minus yielding.

Early Husaberg cylinder heads also benefit from connecting the steam pocket between the exhaust ports to the main coolant cavity. If such a modification is performed limiting coolant flow to the inlet side via the head gasket is also a good idea.

New models have the connected cavity. I wonder where they came up with the idea. LOL

Re: torque for my head

 Thanks, Dale , for the quick response as I'm setting up my engine whilst babysitting my 3 and 4 year old grandkids. Removed the base gasket yeilding approx. .014 deck height, should suffice nicely. Wait 'till my riding buddies find out I've raised the compression on my Berg, now they'll really be afraid to try to kickstart it. 32 lb/ft on the head bolts.......I was guessing maybe 31.5  P.S Allen head bolts suck!
