Hi all
My 04 needs swing arm bearings
Is this job doable with only a vise and no press
any tips
Thanks :D

Pineman, I have not needed to replace mine yet, but I have done ever other bearing on my bike with a press. But the swing arm I have made up arbors for a press and have looked at just using a large C-clamp or vise would do. Try heating the area to be pressed to about 150F, put the bearings in a freeser for 1/2hr. Use a socket that will slid inside to press out the bearing and a socket to receive the old bearing. the receiveing socket needs to be deep and wide to take the bearing but still support the swing arm.
Measure the old bearing depht so when installing the new one you will get it close to orinal depht.
If I can help more email me.

Thanks for the reply I have planned to use the same method.
I have 2000 with over 250 hrs. that I have not needed to replace, it was a surprise to find the 2004 needed replacement with only 140 hrs.
:)
