My bike is FE450 2005 at 200hours. I have some pictures about cylinder and need some suggestions about replace or not.

There are some stretches in cylinder but i feel a bit deep at only one stretch. Can i use the bike at this situation?

Thanks.

yes you can use it Blamir

obviously its not new but it was recently working right?

things to check for are ridges at the top and bottom of the stroke as seen at the top of the cylinder in your pic and also if the bore is round.

After clean up and reassembly maybe lube the wall a little as it is hard to see how deep it is and you don't want to risk any kind of hang up on the rings at start up.

It actually doesn't look bad for 200 hours in my eyes :)

Bushy is a smart cookie by what I read so I would trust his advise.

Check compression with a tester then add a little oil check compression again and see the difference. How if it's small or not at all different. I would think you should be OK. If you access to camera that you can put thru plug hole to check it from time to time it. Just to keep you happy. By the way is that normal for piston to be that clean ??

I cleaned piston. There was some carbons.

Sorry Blamir

it looks ok from here but i can't measure it or feel the scratches

if the bike had no problems like blowing smoke, using lots of oil etc then it will probably be good for another 1 - 200 hrs

Blamir,

Is there any metal chips in the oil. I had a one time on my 2001 FC550, metal chips in the oil. Counter balance bearing failed. I hope its not your problem, just somethong to look at before next ride. can be just dirt passing the air filter.
