Hey everyone,
I've got about another 10,000+ posts spanning from Nov 2001 to Feb 2003 on another site that I recently converted to our current format. Before I can merge the two archives though, all the posts need to be sorted into the proper forum categories. It's pretty painful work, and the pay isn't good(startout of $0 an hour with guaranteed raise to $1,000 an hour at 20 years), but it'd be awfully awesome if I could get some help. I've been doing it myself for some time, but it's becoming almost impossible for me to continue.
If you're interested in helping, just reply and I'll shoot you a PM with the details. There's just a couple of requirements:
1) It helps to be a long(er) standing member(6 mos+ and more than 50 posts. No elitism going on here, but you need to be familiar with the way the forum has been sorted both currently and in the past. This will help immensly. Exceptions will be made if you feel you're proficient enough w/this forum platform(phpBB).
2)If you can't give more than an hour or two, please don't respond, as it will take me longer to add you to the old database and set moderator priveledges than it would be worth.
It seems awfully crappy to put restrictions on something I'm asking for free help on, but please understand that it has already taken me over 250 hours to get to this stage in rebuilding and converting this archive, and I will cry like a little school girl if it goes south. Yes indeed, I have a backup, but uploading the 122 megs of data takes me roughly 3 weeks at my optimum connection speed.
