Hey All,

I am so glad to find this site!

I am an avid woods rider (presently on a ktm 200 2strk.)When I bought my first bike, a ktm 520, I started reading the forums and was surprised by the numbers of post describing ktm as unreliable, hard to find parts for etc. Time has shown this info to be absolutely incorrect. Now I am considering a Berg, and I am hoping that the same rumors about bergs is incorrect or at least not applicable to some one accustomed to maintaining their machine.

My neighbor has 00 600 (19" rear wheel, is that a fs?) Any way, this bike has been sitting in a garage for years unable to sell. The bike was way too big for a beginer and then he had some major electrical problem that took the dealer a month and $700 to fix, not sure exactly what. I have been eyeing this bike for some time.......It looks super sexy. Then and light wieght for a 4 strk. Scotts steering dampner. It looks unused, just dusty.

Can you guys point me in the right direction regarding this machine?
Is this a good bike?
Where do I get parts?
What do you think the value (price) of it should be?
Is it possible to dual sport it? If so, where to get compatible dual sport parts?
Is there a recluse or revloc clutch available for it?

Any info would be appreciated! Thanks so much.

Sounds like an FC600. That's the MX version, it probably comes with a 4 speed transmission (even though the cover may say 6).
2000 is a good year to own, but like any 9 year old racing 4 stroke it will probably need alot of TLC and attention. Most parts should be still available. As far as the Rekluse or Revloc you will have to contact them.
Check the "Owners doc" on the left hand side of the page for more info.

you posted this a couple of days early if you meant it as a joke.
somebody wanna move it to the right forum? :bounce3:

oops

Sorry, I did not realize I posted on the lighter side. took me a minute to understand....april fools day/ a couple of days early...ha ha. I will try and move or repost in general. Thx -Sean

Saw a second hand Rekluse to fit that bike on Oz ebay about 6 months ago, so they exist.

Does it have an electric starter? Or at least have the place where the starter shoud be across the front of the engine? The non estart ones, of which I think the FC was one, vibrate a lot more due to there being no counterbalancer shaft - and you can't fit one later. If you want to do much road or long distance putting along trails the vibes might piss you off a bit.

Otherwise, if you get it for the right price, many would say it is the best of the older year models you can get.
