Hi all,

Im Panagiotis from sunshine Greece

i would like to ask your opinion about a enduro motorcycle to buy..

the usage of it will be in traffic..(for some rides..)off road (to have some fun) and for road trips...

i was thinking of husaberg FE650e (i realy like this bike) and i was ready to buy it... but some friends of mine told me that its a realy sensitive byke..

that needs service every 20 fills of gasoline...or use time and that it has many malfunctions...

is that true?(hope not i realy want to have one...)

i can affort the money for it but i wont be able to keep service every since..

cause if i want to do a trip to UK from Greece that im planning..(with an enduro :p)i will have problems on the way, of not on the way i will when im back..

dont know...

i realy need your opinion on that

thanks for reading my prob

ill be glad to read you posts...

I would not recommend the Husaberg for a commuter bike. The bike will suffer in slow traffic. The bikes are also somewhat maintenance intensive.
Remember, the Husaberg is intended for off road racing and should be purchased with that in mind.

hmm i am getting scared of how im gonna keep that bike if i get it...

all i want to sat is that ...a husabergFE450e needs more tender and service than a hondaCRF450?( for example)

A CRF is not much better. I think what you need is an XR400 or XR650.A KTM with an LC4 motor may be a consideration.
You will want to stay away from the racing 4 stroke motors.

Did I really just type that????? I think I need some coffee :) .

xexex the good or bad is that i dont want to stay away from this kind of bike..

I am looking now for a husqvarna 610...do you know smth?

and im wondering ... does the sensitive rule counts on every bike like this?

cause if it is... :-(

and what do i have to change or check every since..?(fro myour experience?)

thanks for your support..

hi, just wondering which was your previous bike. are you familiar with racing four stroke enduros?

Check out a MZ Street Moto...660 CC Yammy motor in it....350 lbs mid 50's hp range...painted plastics.... I loved mine....Excellent Street Tard

A Suzuki DRZ400s is the only dual sport I know
of that can do all that you are asking of it.If
you can afford it,buy a cheap street bike and
a dirt bike. You will be much happier when riding.

Personally.... I change the oil after every tank (50-60 miles). I change the oil filter every 3rd time. I service the air filter every other ride. Adjust the valves every 20 hours or as needed. Lube the chain every ride.

i was an owner of a Gilera RK 50(enduro) and i was borred of two strokes (it has power for what it was..50cc-12hp)...and it was a good thing to start and learn...

Look i know you gonna say that i have to learn with another bike to drive etc...

But now i got the chance to have a good bike...and i want to have smth with power and reliability.

Thats the reason that im asking for . . .

(may i ask smth alse..if i say if i dont change oil on every ride...or not one every month..but every 3 months ... is it gonna be a problem?)
just dont laugh im a newbie on that and thats why im asking for help...
(and i dont know what a 650cc bike gonna have to take care of...)

If you buy a Husaberg, ride it every day,and only
change the oil every 3 months, you will have trouble.
Depending on your milage, you may be asking alot
of any dual sport.

i just contact with some dealers Husaberg, Honda, Yamaha and they told me the same of you guys :-(

every 10 hours change 1 litter oil+oil filter --> 20euro
every 30 hours change 1 litter oil+oil filter+adjustment of valve->80 euro

And in time you have to check for engine parts or malfunctions etc..

So enduro bikes are like R/C modeling just for hobby! For some guys that got money to spend and they spend it on bikes.. :-(

...i want to know i all the people that i see on the road is like that(best friend of mechanic an the husaberg..or honda dealers cause even this they will have to pay a lot)..
cause if you have a bike you wont take the car...you will go for a ride with the bike :) even on road..

I don't understand what have changed on bikes and they become so sensitive.. :)

I remember Enduro bikes that needed service every 10.000-15.000 klm
or it is the same way?...but to be sure you have to make it more often..
like 10 hours or smth..

Cause with this way only racing teams will have em...or people that owns a bank...(or smth that gives much more money than mine).

And at the end whats the deference of enduro and street bikes?
Why on street bikes you dont have to change oil every 10 hours or oil filter?
is that because of the dust? you can find it even on road..
or is that only on my mind and you have to open your wallet for every 10 hours of every bike use..?

And if i use it allways on road? does that change anything?

i hope not be borring with my posts...

Look at it this way...If you were buying a car equal to the Husaberg you would be buying a Ferrari. How well do they hold up in day to day operation and how much maintenance do they require??

Hmm now i get it...

Thanks people for your info..it was realy helpfull

Ill let you know for the bike that i will choose at the end...

keep up the good job(4 the site) and the good rides with the only bike i dream of having...

:)

be good...

The performance of these exotic machinery is
amazing. To use one just for transportation is
is like using a Ferrari f40 to deliver pizza. Like
RC, it is a hobby, but a much more rewarding one.
I raced RC for years and spent a bundle. You want
to talk about poor resale -oboy.If this is the bike
you dream of,I hope you can budget it in,both
money wise and maintenance wise.

The FE 650 is a great bike. I have one and I do a lot of trailriding. I have had no problems with it so far. They are great for off road riding and racing, but not going slow because they get warm easily as you would expect. Keep the maintenence up (which isnt that hard) and you will have no problems, but keep in mind they are designed for off road use.
