A friend of mine who has a dealership has just picked up the Husaberg line. I haven't talked to him yet about it, I wanted to get a few owners opinions first. How hard is it to convert one to Street legal status? I was thinking the 550 or 650. I'm 46, 6' 200 lbs and had a KTM 300 exc I was enduro racing a few years ago. I've had a street only back the last couple of years and miss the dirt! Any input would be greatly appreciated.

i have a 04 550 fe.that is street legal in new mexico its quite easy in some states and quite difficult in some others ..the fe makes a pretty good dual sport for going from trail to trail.not sure how it would fair setting at traffic lights for long periods of time with no electric fan for the rad ..it likes to stay moving or it will heat up pretty fast.the honda 650r has the same problem.they use a catch can like on your car so they dont loose fluid.i have ben going to put one on my 550 for the same reason..hope this helps ....bergdaddy

Thanks for the info, I just came back from my local dealer; He said no problem with licensing in PA. I don't think I would have to deal with the kind of heat that you do in NM. The longest on the street might be my 18 mile (no traffic lights) ride to work. I wish I could keep my street bike too...not enough $$$ to go around!
