I just ****** 2 pieces MF CTZ7S. They each lasted 2 hrs in the bike, approx 20 starts and then died and wouldn't take charge. My regulator is working ok, so I didn't fry them. They where ok when they worked and started the bike fine.

I paid 24 GBP so send it back to dealer, and now awaiting a 45 GBP refund.. What seemed like a good deal ended up as loss of money (Because of shipping costs), and then all the hazzle changing batteries over, and not being able to ride.

Just bought a Yuasa YTZ7S. Expensive as **** (90 GBP), but I expect it to last longer.

Fingers crossed

Anders who was your supplier as mine said he'd had no problems with his batteries before, if its the same as me it could be a bad batch?!

Good luck with the YTZ, i think i'll try one of those next. If not i'll have to try to find a normal acid battery with similar cca, my old original is back in and lasted over a year but just not strong enough for the e start.

Carl,

I bought them from Taffmeisters, what's your source ?

Could be a bad badge or they just don't like starting the 650 off the button ! They are advertised as the best there is for its size. Its alot cheaper than Youasa and it did sound a little "too good to be true" to me.

But I had to try !

No mine were from Mad 4 Bikes Anders, i think maybe they don't like the vibes on the 650 as Ned has also had one die very quickly but his 400 has no problems.

I think i will have to try a Yuasa but also put foam around the battery the same as Ned. Fingers crossed it works.

My Yuasa has lasted over 2 years with no problems except a recent small
drop in power that I have cured with an occasional trickle charge.
My 650 had been ridden 2 or 3 Saturdays a month which helps.

Ive got a cheaper battery not sure why I got it when I ordered the same as stock recieve a YT5L-BS

It has been starting the bike cold really well for about say 30 starts and now it turns over slow and wont start the bike or sometimes doesnt turn at all.

I check the voltage and still at 12.3 or 12.5 volts.

So I kick it over and it runs.

The oil in the sight glass is that thing that looks like a fan suppose to spin?
