Where is your cable broke at? If the fitting on the end is gone but the rest of the cable is in good shape then just put another end on it. With a little tinkering it can be made to work. Even if you was to find a cable the right length and all you would still have to change the fitting on the clutch end. Takes about the same size end as the clutch lever end. You can find cable ends at a auto parts place. You can make one but it takes time and careful measuring. I broke the clutch cable on my bike a 96 FE501 and made me one using the front brake cable off of a Suzuki TC 100 and threading the cable through the sleeve, then fitting the end and adjusting to get the right length. Takes a while to get right but the fix works fine on my bike. I can use both the top and bottom adjusters. Hope this helps.

Any bad history here that might be useful to others? Experience here is that any parts are at least an overnight. If it were on my bike I'd do as Bill said & attempt a fix.

why did you not buy one from me last week when you called then you would have it already?sometimes one must help themself ,dont you think :!:

Earl doesn't have a clutch cable at all, zero, notta, zilch. He's a first time 'berg owner so he's out there checking things (dealers, parts, hop-ups, this message board, etc.) out, feeling his way around.
As far as not purchasing a cable from you last week, like I said, he's out there feeling things out ,waiting for responses form other dealers, folks in the know from this message board, etc.
Your clutch cable $40, most others $30 ! That's why when your new to something you take your time, gather as much info as possible, and try and make the best decision you can. Sometimes it takes a little time for that info to trickle down even in the age of the internet.
I am in no way busting your bunns on the price of your cable, that's your price and that's fine. I am just using that as an example to why you check things out and take your time, especially with something as new and pretty much as rare as a Husaberg.

I personally would never let $10 get in the way of a weekend of spring riding
Just my opinion, and of course....as always, I could be wrong.

Just buy it from Andrew. He is one of the few dealerships that still have that old stuff. Your in Ohio Andrew is mi. It's only like two days using the post office duh! You might want to spend a little money supporting your local dealer "Euro motors" Andrew will bend over back words to help you out of a jam. He's the only dealer that I've ever had that was at the trail ride with a fully stock trailer of parts. I waded my 02 470 last summer at a CCC trail tour and Andrew was there with all the parts to put her back together! He spent almost an hour helping with my bike at his cost! (I bought the parts & drinks)

I agree with Euro Motors ! Another friend of ours just purchased a 'berg.
He used Euro Motors and raved about them. But, again being a new 'berg owner, he had to do some research, then try them out, and then found a good place to do business with !
As far as a local dealer we thought Euro Motors was gonna be our dealer as we thought there was no dealer in Ohio (the phone # was disconnected, couldn't find the shop, etc.).
Again, after a little time passed by, and a little more research was done,
we found out a new phone # and a better location, and we called. And again with just a little more time we found a place that had some used 'berg parts that was local.
I used to be a dealer and know how cross-referencing parts from other brands can be a way to get your parts when you need them, if it's close localy, and a lot of the time cheaper.
As time goes by we are learning more and more, especially thanks to this website ! I always check with my local dealer first !
Thanks for everyone being so helpfull, now and in the future !

Decker bike??

This was one of the machains that was on the web sit from Decker's they perchesed leftover Husaberg's and KTM from KTM North America got these for a song as I hear let's thank KTM for there promotion. All these bikes have something missing or something wong with them

I talked to Cody today from Chicken Koop Husaberg, very very helpfull !
Cody is now our local dealer for 'bergs. Earl went out and was able to get a used clutch cable for his 'berg, FREE ! Cody was also able to direct us to a used motorcycle yard with some 'berg parts, awsome !! THANKS Cody !!!

Decker's KTM for the last 2 years has been able to buy "demo" bikes from KTM. He buys approx. 125-135 bikes a year. Demo bikes are bikes that were former test bikes from magazines, former racer bikes (Lafferty, Metcalf, Garrahan, Langston, etc.), leftovers where parts were taken off of them, project bikes, bikes that were taken back and then fixed, etc.
This year Decker bought his package deal for one price and 10-12 'bergs were in the mix. They ranged from 1998-2002 'bergs, FC/FE/FX. I do know there was a brand new 1998, 2-3 brand new 1999s,
3 or 4 brand new 2002s.
There were some slightly used bikes as well, a couple of magazine test bikes, a former National MX racer's bike . Then there was a couple that had been used, and then there was one without a motor.
Some of the new bikes seemed like they had parts taken from them when there were no other parts available and then they just sat.
I know I've had dealers take parts off of showroom bikes when I needed them because they ddin't have them in stock, and I did it back when I was a dealer. I bought a leftover brand new 1999 Husky in 2003 where the parts had been taken from it.
Earls bike (99 FE 600 e) and Rob's bike (02 FE 501 e) were on Decker's floor and never made it on ebay cause they bought them off the floor.
Both bike are brand new leftovers, never used. Earls needed a clutch cable, Decker thru in brand new batteries.
Some of the bikes needed nothing, some needed just a few items, some eeded alot, and one even needed an engine.
Deckers buys the lot of demos almost sight unseen.

Thanks for the Info BP219; it’s always nice to have an optional source for hard to find parts.
