mid-wales, uk
got up this morning and decided to go to the biggest national bike show we have in the uk.
its very road biased with little of interest for off-rd fans but here's some photos of what i found with a few other interesting pics.
moto GP bike complete and not a show mock up like some. apparently
Ducati hypermoto. a really nice looking bike in the flesh. overall reckon ducati has 1 of the most interesting lines of motorcycles going.
Mike Hailwood 125 honda.
Benelli 505 enduro above and supermoto below. avalible march '08 cant recall what the price was. not to insane
the most interesting bike on the harley stand.
2009 CCM 450 mx. this was a show mock up the frame being plastic, but speaking with the staff its a heavily modded yzf 450 in an aluminium bonded (glued together!!) frame.
at the moment the developement bike is already lighter than the factory ktm 450 sx from '07 and they'll be fitting a carbon tank come racing season.
lookin at production in 2009 when the bikes will have a plastic tank and alu sub-frame
BMW 450x. rather a strange bike in the flesh. looks too long, thin and low. with a clutch that was v. heavy and a fuel cap in the back of the seat that will let all the mud
into the tank when your refueling in a hurry.
engine does look very compact and neat.
lots of people were gettin on the bike, bouncing up and down and commenting on the suspension. it was all i could do not to laugh, obviously they failed to account for the fact the front
wheel was 3 inches off the ground. road bikers eh.
on the sign price and release date just had '?' next to them. even the benelli had an avalible date and price.
my favourite BMW and a lovely machine BMW HP2 sports. i want one!
saw this one, which was my favourite custom, and thought of Ned37.
Wall of death.
norton rotary engined racer.
Piston from the engine. picked it up and nearly broke my other wrist. very heavy but i suppose it was going around not up and down.
finally what ever you think of choppers seeing the detail on these bikes up close showed me that they can be works or art.
thats all folks!
