My Husaberg is too fast, too light, and starts too easily.

 At first I thought I had purchased the wrong bike. From the first time I rode it, I knew something was very wrong. I had a hard time becoming accustomed to the low center of gravity.and flickability of the chassis, and the power was so massive that my hands were literally ripped from the handlebars the first time I rode it. It really made me long for the safe, vanilla world of the Honda Cr's that always made me feel safe and obscure. It's difficult now with all the attention I'm payed as I'm an introverted OCD personality. Some of my riding buddies resent me now because I'm off on the first kick while they're still setting valves and switches on their riceburners. I'm really not trying to roost them but it seems like this beast is perpetually throwing large portions of the turf off the rear tire. I'm not used to having such a capable motorcycle, and it's really starting to mess with my mind. If any of you have experienced the same problems as I, I would surely enjoy some support here as I'm at the end of my rope. Thanks, Corey

With time your mind will adapt.

Have some sympathy for our brethren on lesser motorcycles.

Re: My Husaberg is too fast, too light, and starts too easil

in the 1990's someware, i was reading this bike magazine it said a 4 stroke had beaten 'factory' cr500's & kx500s in a world mx event .

at the time i had an xr600 and i thought it was quick , when i heard a 4 stroke had beaten 2 strokes i did not believe it , but if it was true i had to have one of these devices called 'husenberg' .

and now i have my very own FE650E factory racer and it threatens to pull my arms 'orf' every time it hooks up . :signcool:

If I had a nickel for every time somebody called my bike a husen-berg...I am currently preparing my garage for the summer arrival if an FE650E. I have some friends back in Nevada, riders of the cr500 and kx500 persuasion, with whom I have a score to settle. And I cant WAIT to settle it on a bike with E-start, lights, a quiet exhuast, and a funny name. :headbang:

I too feel your pain as I own an 06 fe-650 that starts on the button instantly even when cold or on first or second kick cold. Feels light and accelerates like no other dirt bike. I had an xr-628 that i thought was pretty good stuff and i loved the torque. Both 650s i have are way more torqey and rev. Also i wish i had a nickel for every time someone said "husenberg" or" never heard of it". Anyway these bikes are awesome , everytime i havent ridden in awhile and then grab a handful of a 650 it is a real thrill and i remember why i had to have another 650 "Husenberg"

I also have the same problem! We went out to a ride on saturday, I hadn't been riding since november. I was pissed when my bike took TWO kicks to fire! Then the darn thing proceeded to handle well and kept trying to rip the bars out of my hands! What happened to the good old days when my Honda would wiggle the bars all day? I really miss the pinball effect of bouncing off all the rocks. And mixing gas, man do I really miss that, now you don't even get the chance to forget your mix oil and then cruise the pits looking for oil. The one thing that really pissed me off,,,my plug didn't foul once! wtf? If the plug doesn't foul you never get a chance to stop and take a leak!

I had rebuild my bike (650 2004) it was the first time with the open saddle, the only thing I did was mountainbiken and judo.

First ride ,instantly amazing very powerfull bike,I know within a few rides I will have the hunger for more Hp.
Adaptive mind.

I know what you mean. Many of the MX racers have good Dental insurance, for the Husaberg Roost is very nasty.

Corey,
I am relieved to read your post. I always thought that I was somehow defective or perhaps suffering from some rare and unusual psychological disorder.
It started right after I bought my first Husenberg. Now I see that I am not alone and that others feel the same. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!
I am so thankful to be a member of this support group.

and the only bike in my group to make every clime on this weekends ride, start running after 10 min of draining all the water out after being washed down the river; not bad for a whuzanberg

Re: My Husaberg is too fast, too light, and starts too easil

I did alot of ice riding this weekend. After the bike sat for a couple of hours at minus 5 celcius, it fired right up on the second kick. The guys watching me were shocked that the "HuskaBerg" started so easily after being left to freeze for a few hours.

Re: My Husaberg is too fast, too light, and starts too easil

I'm not sure but I think the 450berg would be even faster, wouldn't it hook up better than the 550 or 650?
There was a 650 on the ice yesterday and it just spun the tire like crazy.
I was keeping up to him on the straits but his riding skill would leave me in the corners.

Re: My Husaberg is too fast, too light, and starts too easil

Something was wrong with either the tires or the riding style. The tires should be hooking up and launching that 650 like a missle on the ice.

Last year, Jedi and I built a road race course on a lake and ran a 2005 FE450, FE550 and FE650. I spent most of my time on the 550 but towards the end of the day I put lots and lots of laps on the 650. It was wicked fast and found I could go super fast by using the torque of that big motor.

Now that you mention it, some of his knobs were held on by the screws.

Re: My Husaberg is too fast, too light, and starts too easil

Looks and sounds like the 2007's don't need much change no twin rads, no linklage, no double OHVC easy to work on what else do we need.

Re: My Husaberg is too fast, too light, and starts too easil

that fe650 had a very lacking center patern Kelso
